Privacy Policy

When you create a PassMark account we collect your email address and a password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your actual password). When you use the app we also collect the documents you upload, the flashcards and quizzes generated from those documents, and basic usage data such as which features you use and how often. We do not collect payment card details — all payments are handled directly by Paystack, a PCI-compliant payment processor.

We use your information to: • Provide the PassMark service and generate study content from your documents • Send you important account emails such as email confirmation and password resets • Improve the product by understanding how students use different features • Process payments and manage your subscription We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Your documents and study content are stored securely on Supabase, which is hosted on AWS infrastructure in dedicated data centres. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to your content is protected by Row Level Security — our database is configured so that each user can only read their own data, even at the database level.

PassMark uses the following third-party services to operate: • Supabase — database and file storage (your uploaded documents are stored here) • Anthropic (Claude AI) — generates flashcards, quizzes, summaries and solutions from your documents • Paystack — processes subscription payments • Vercel — hosts the PassMark web application Each of these services has its own privacy policy and security standards. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

You have the right to: • Access all data we hold about you — just email us and we will send it within 7 days • Delete your account and all associated data at any time • Correct any inaccurate information we hold • Export your flashcards and quiz data To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@passmark.africa.

PassMark uses session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. The only cookies we set are strictly necessary for the application to function.
